NEW DELHI: In-form former India captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead a powerful West Zone team in the Duleep Trophy scheduled in Tamil Nadu from September 8 to 25.
It was reported by PTI last Sunday that Rahane, who is recovering from a groin injury, will make a return to competitive cricket with the Duleep Trophy.
Members of Ranji’s runner-up Mumbai team, including internationals like Prithvi Shaw and Shardul Thakur and rising stars like Yashashvi Jaiswal, Shams Mulani, Hardik Tamore and Tanush Kotian were all cast.
From Saurashtra, veteran Jaydev Unadkat has been chosen while Rahul Tripathi, who recently joined the national team, is also part of the west zone squad.
Central area also announced their squad and most of the stars of Madhya Pradesh ranji trophy winning team are there in the squad including Yash Dubey, Shubham SharmaKumar Kartikeya with the versatile Venkatesh Iyer.
