Hillary Clinton shared a photo of her dancing in a salsa bar during her time as US Secretary of State in a message of support to the Finnish prime minister.

The image shows Ms. Clinton with her hand in the air at Cafe Havana, in Cartagena, Colombia, during a break from the 2012 American Summit.

“As Ann Richards said ‘Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did. He only did it backwards and in high heels,'” he wrote.

“Here I am in Cartagena while I was there for a meeting as secretary of state. Keep dancing, Sanna Marin.”

The message came later Videos emerged of the Finnish PM dancing with friends in a private home, which sparked criticism of her leadership and led her to take a drug test.

The married mother, who flatly denied ever taking drugs, said she had to take the test, which it came back negativefor its “legal protection”.

“I had some free time and spent it with my friends. And I didn’t do anything illegal,” he said at the time.

In the clips, six people can be seen dancing and lip syncing to a song, including Ms. Marin, and is later seen dancing on her knees with her hands behind her head.

In another video, she could be seen dancing with male pop star Olavi Uusivirta at a Helsinki nightclub, with people claiming she showed him kissing her neck, which Ms. Marin denied.

A few days later, an image of two female social media influencers kissing and posing naked in her official residence while at a party.

The 36-year-old apologized for the photo, saying it “wasn’t appropriate”, but said “nothing out of the ordinary happened during the meeting”.

Ms. Marin, married to her husband Markus Raikkonen since 2020, is the youngest head of state in the world.

While she was scrutinized for clips, she also received a wave of online support, with hundreds of women posting videos of themselves dancing with the hashtag #SolidaritywithSanna.

Many people have suggested that the Finnish Prime Minister faced much more scrutiny than his male counterparts like Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.
