In a nerve-wracking video, a plane landing at a Greek airport seemed to arrive within walking distance of the people standing on the shore before landing on the runway.

The video, posted on YouTube by user GreatFlyer, shows what has been identified as an Airbus A321neo Wizzair landing at Skiathos airport, located on the Greek island of Skiathos.

“It was absolutely insane!” Wrote one commentator, complimenting the videographer.

The video shows the plane coming in for a landing, almost at an angle to the front of the camera. A small crowd had gathered on the shoreline, with only a lane and a barrier that included barbed wire separating them from the trail. A man, standing near that barrier, seemed to be moving away as the plane passed overhead, the landing gear barely missing him.

This isn’t the only close-call video at Skiathos Airport that GreatFlyer has posted, and a YouTube search shows a series of clips of take-offs and landings at the European vacation spot. The title “NEW LOWER LANDING?” in this video, however, it indicates that it may be the closest a plane has come to the ground of all the videos.
