Three Wimbledon security guards arrested for alleged fight amongst each other

The altercation, which occurred at the grand slam ground on Friday, was broken up by officers from the Metropolitan Police in London.
According to the Guardian, the alleged fight broke out in front of fans and started because a worker accused his colleague of taking a three-hour break.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told CNN: “At 2pm on Friday July 1, duty officers at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships were alerted to an altercation on the court.

“Officers were present. Three men working at the event were arrested on suspicion of a fight. No injuries were reported.

“They were taken into custody and were subsequently released on bail until a date at the end of July.”

CNN has contacted Knights Group Security, which provides the security guards, and Wimbledon for comment.

An insider at Knights Group Security told the Guardian the altercation was “embarrassing”, adding: “Fighting in front of fans isn’t pretty. It’s damaged the reputation of the company. I can’t believe they did that.”
