Apple Tells Staff They Have to Work in the Office Most of the Week | News on science and technology


Apple told employees that they must return to the office for at least three days a week.

Like many companies, he is trying to figure out what role his offices play after the remote work required by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple he had previously attempted to bring staff back to the office in June 2021, only to see his plans thwarted by another coronavirus wave.

In a note sent to employees Monday by CEO Tim Cook, the company stressed that “personal collaboration” is “essential to our culture”.

For staff near the company’s Cupertino headquarters, Mr. Cook said Tuesdays and Thursdays are essential office days.

According to the memo seen by the Financial Times, team managers must also designate another day for each of their employees to come in and work together.

Plans are just a pilot, the note said.

“We also know that we still have a lot to learn. And we are committed to listening, adapting and growing together in the weeks and months to come,” he said.

Facebook was one of the first companies to announce it would permanently embrace remote work once the pandemic is over, in May 2020.

Elon Musk told Tesla employees to do this go back to the office or leave the companyaccording to a leaked note that circulated on social media.

“Anyone wishing to work remotely must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean minimum) 40 hours per week or leave Tesla,” he said.

Twitter staff have relatively free rein to decide where to work at the moment.

When Mr. Musk talked to them first trying to pull the deal out to acquire that company, he said he would allow “exceptional” staff to work from home.
