NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron and reviewed ongoing bilateral initiatives, including defense cooperation projects and civil nuclear energy cooperation. During his telephone conversation with Macron, Fashion also expressed solidarity with the ongoing drought and forest fires in France.
They also discussed important geopolitical challenges, including those related to global food security. India and France have expressed concern over the risk to global food security and nutrition in light of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“The two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the depth and strength that the India-France strategic partnership has acquired over the past few years and agreed to continue to work closely together to expand the relationship into new areas of cooperation,” the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
