Get ready. If you thought Donald Trump’s first coming was crazy enough, wait for the sequel News from the United States

It is now a fact, they say. No longer if, but when. In the media and among those who know, or who claim to know, it is clear. Donald Trump is back, or is about to run for president. Get ready.

Millions of people see him as a thwarted redeemer and yearn for a second coming. Like the messiahs before him from Skywalker to Moses, he may still be grappling with his fate.

You risk being rejected twice. A sobering prospect for someone who says they hate losers. But the faithful, or many of them, have decided.

On Fox News, talk radio, and even at a fundraising event he attended himself, Donald Trump was told. Act now – there won’t be a better time.

The hype began to grow with the anger caused by FBI agents search Mr. Trump’s Florida estate in Mar-a-Lago. His Republican rivals also lined up spitting out indignation at the feds.

But a Trump candidate’s landslide victory in Wyoming over his biggest victim has brought things to a head.

Now is the time when many believe Trump declares his candidacy.

The decisive victory of a Trump candidate over Liz Cheney carries enormous symbolism. From Dick, the former vice president, to Liz, the Cheney brand was everything Republicans stood for. But none of this mattered. His victory in Wyoming cemented Trump’s hold on the party.

It is for all the same reasons as before. It is the non-political who finally faces Washington and infuriates its political and media elites, draining the swamp and so on.

With the billionaire trick on the masses, or not, his field works and raises millions. His “persecution” by those elites, as supporters see it, only reinforces him politically. He raised millions on that FBI raid alone.

One of the reasons those millions of people despise Washington and its elites can be traced back to the sins of Liz Cheney’s father. Vice President Dick Cheney helped lead America to the Iraq war on false premises costing America lives and billions, not to mention the enormous damage to his power and prestige.

More than one observer has pointed out the irony of his position. The daughter of a man accused of pushing a big lie, she fought to refute another one, Donald Trump’s claim to have won the last election and has now been punished for it.

Liz Cheney might say she’s not leaving. He promised to continue his crusade against Trump.

Supporters compare her to another Star Wars Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who told Darth Vader that he could kill him but it would only make him stronger.

It is difficult to see how this metaphor holds up politically at least in the immediate future.

Ms. Cheney’s search for Trump seems to have little electoral appeal where it counts, if Wyoming is anything to rely on. But she will remain a powerful antagonist of Mr. Trump, pushing him forward and that may make him more likely to run as she tries to frustrate his efforts.

What does this mean for America as it heads into midterm elections with one of its two largest parties completely at the mercy of one man, a “personality cult” as a group of anti-Trump Republicans have called it. week?

In Wyoming, Trump’s growing power has led to spectacular success, but it may not be in other races.

Trump’s taking means extreme candidates are being selected to run elsewhere. Conspiracy theorists who believe QAnon’s nonsense, America is run by pedophiles, for example. The latest data suggests that many of them are struggling in the polls and observers say this could jeopardize the party’s chances of regaining the Senate.

However, none of this could put Trump off. Nobody dares to stand up to him.

He still seems to understand voters better than the rest of his party and retains the power to make and break careers.

Trump’s legal danger is on the rise. Prosecutors continue to gather evidence. He is now under investigation under the espionage law.

This could spur him into the belief that running for the White House will make it more difficult to accuse him. If he is indicted, he promises to be the mother of all legal, political and constitutional crises.

Prepare yourself. If you thought about Trump, the first coming was crazy enough, just wait for the sequel.
