Imran says his arrested senior assistant was inhumanly tortured and sexually abused

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday accused authorities of mentally, physically and sexually torturing his chief of staff and former senior assistant, Dr. Shahbaz Gill in custody after his arrest last week for sedition. He also announced a rally in Islamabad on Saturday in support of his detained aide and urged people to come out in large numbers.
“All photos and videos clearly show Shahbaz Gil was tortured both mentally and physically, including sexual abuse – more gruesome to tell. He was humiliated to break it,” Khan posted on his Twitter account, while sharing a video of Gill on a wheelchair surrounded by members of the Islamabad Police and Paramilitary Border Police, crying and begging for a mask. to oxygen.
The 42-year-old Pakistani-American dual citizen, a teacher by profession and a Pakistani Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) civil servant, was arrested last Tuesday outside Khan’s residence at Banigala in Islamabad after police dragged him out of his vehicle by breaking its windows.
On August 9, Gill had alleged on the private television channel ARY that the coalition government which had taken office after toppling Khan in April was provoking the lower and middle ranks of the army against the PTI. He said families from such a “base” support Khan and his party, and that this “fuels the rage within the government”.
Khan vowed to find those responsible for Gill’s inhumane treatment and bring them to justice. “I have complete and detailed information.”
Announcing that more rallies will be held in all divisional headquarters, Khan said: “If a political worker can be subjected to such torture, it could happen to anyone in this country. He was speaking at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad, where Gill was hospitalized by court order.
Khan was banned from entering the hospital. Islamabad Police said Gill is currently not in pre-trial detention and no one is allowed to meet him.
The PTI chairman said the Islamabad police had made it clear that they would not torture Gill. “My question is who tortured Gill? There is a general perception in the public and in our minds as well as to who might have committed the horrible torture. Remember the audience would react,” he said.
Khan had alleged his aide had been targeted for advising army officers against obeying unlawful orders and now they have forced him to say “I” told him to.
“They broke him (Gill) psychologically. They are forcing him to make statements against me,” Khan said. Attempts were made to disqualify him from the elections and break up his party, he alleged.
