A former US police officer pleaded guilty to helping to forge the search warrant used in the killing of Breonna Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor26, was killed on March 13, 2020 when officers in Louisville, Kentuckyhe carried out a “don’t knock” warrant and broke down the door of his apartment.
Her boyfriend thought it was someone who broke in and fired a single shot in self-defense, hitting an officer in the leg.
Three officers responded with 32 shots, six of which hit and killed Ms. Taylor.
It later emerged that the police were indeed looking for a former partner of Ms. Taylor who did not live at the address.
On Tuesday, former officer Kelly Goodlett pleaded guilty in a federal court in Louisville, the New York Times reported.
Death of Mrs. Tayloralong with other killings of blacks in 2020, including George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, unleashed outrage and led to protests in the United States and around the world.
Goodlett was one of four officers charged by the United States Department of Justice on August 4 for their involvement in the raid.

According to prosecutors, Goodlett and another agent, Joshua Jaynes, met in a garage after the shooting where they agreed on a story to cover up the false evidence they presented to justify the raid.
Goodlett was accused of conspiring with another detective to forge the warrant and cover up the forgery.
Jaynes and Sergeant Kyle Meany were also charged with violating civil rights and obstructing justice for using incorrect information to obtain a warrant.
A fourth officer, former detective Brett Hankison, was charged with violating civil rights for allegedly using excessive force.
In March, a jury acquitted Hankison of unbridled danger. A grand jury earlier cleared the other two white officers who shot Taylor, but accused Hankison of endangering the neighbors in the adjacent apartment.
