Join us for Call to Earth Day on November 3, 2022

On November 3, 2022, we are hosting the second annual Earth Call Day. Celebrating a planet worth protecting, we will partner with schools, individuals and organizations around the world to raise awareness of environmental issues and engage in conservation education. Join CNN on November 3 for a special day of coverage on TV, digital and our social media.

Call to Earth is a CNN initiative dedicated to conservation, environmentalism and sustainability. through television, our website and social media, we tell stories about our amazing planet and the remarkable people who protect it.

From our biggest cities to our most remote communities, we all depend on our oceans – and they are under threat like never before.

Whether it’s overfishing, pollution or climate change, species and habitats are threatened by human action.

Around the world, incredible individuals and groups are working to reverse the damage. On November 3, 2022, CNN’s second annual Earth Day Appeal, Living Oceans: Turning The Tide, will celebrate these people while inspiring positive change.

Your participation is key to a successful Earth Call, and we appreciate your willingness to get involved. Planning an event can be daunting, so here are our top tips on how to get started with your Earth Call preparations.

Identify your goals

Whether you live on the coast and have first-hand experience of the dangers to marine environments, or can effect change at the source by cleaning up lakes and rivers, you can help us protect our living oceans.

To start, it’s important to determine what you hope to achieve with your event. It could focus on reducing plastic pollution, fighting overfishing, or another ocean issue you care about.

Decide what to do

Decide which ocean issue you want to take action on and try to figure out how your group is uniquely positioned to help.

Your event could fall into one of these categories or it could be something else entirely:

Acquire help

If you need a little encouragement, you can use our Call to Earth activity prompts – they are especially useful for events involving young children.

Register your event

Once you have a plan, the next step is to let us know what your event will be. You can register your Call to Earth event below.

Now you need to let your network know what you are doing, and when, where and why your event is taking place. (We find that email, social media, and word of mouth are a bit better for the planet than posters.)

When the day comes, be sure to let the world know about your event. Be sure to take photos and videos of what you do and post them on social media.
