Bombay: The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has officially announced that it has received a sufficient number of petitions (requests) necessary to reach the annual quota of H-1B cap visas of 85,000 (including 20,000 for the cap master) for the financial year ended September 30, 2023.

The statement released by USCIS adds that the immigration agency will continue to accept and process applications that are otherwise exempt from the H-1B cap. Petitions filed for current H-1B workers who have already counted toward the cap, and who still retain their cap number, are exempt from the fiscal year 2023 H-1B cap.
Additionally, USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions filed to extend the length of time a current H-1B worker can remain in the United States; change the terms and conditions of employment of current H-1B workers; allowing current H-1B workers to change employers; and finally allowing current H-1B workers to simultaneously work in additional H-1B positions.
