Ozzy Osbourne Returns To UK Because He Is “Fed Up” With Mass Shooting In The US | Entities and news on the arts

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are returning to the UK.

The 73-year-old rock star lives in Los Angeles but says he’s “fed up” with the number of mass shootings in America.

Sharon and Ozzywho married in 1982, have lived in Beverley Hills with their three children for more than 25 years.

The Birmingham-born star also told the Observer that he doesn’t want to die in the United States and be buried in Forest Lawn, California’s favorite cemetery for many celebrities.

Hollywood movie stars including Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, and Humphrey Bogart are all buried there.

Ozzy said, “It’s all fucking ridiculous there. I’m sick of the people being killed every day. God knows how many people were killed in the school shootings.

“And there was that mass shooting in Las Vegas at that concert … It’s fucking crazy.”

“And I don’t want to die in America,” he added. “I don’t want to be buried in a fucking Forest Lawn.

“I’m English. I want to go back. But, having said that, if my wife said we have to go and live in Timbuktu, I will go there.”

“But no, it’s only time for me to go home.”

“Nothing united” about America

Ozzy last returned to the UK earlier this month when he delighted fans with a surprise appearance at the closing ceremony at the Commonwealth Games.

In 2020 he revealed that he has Parkinson’s disease. He was diagnosed with degenerative disease in 2003.

However, Sharon said their decision to return to the UK has nothing to do with her diagnosis.

He said, “I knew people would think that. It’s not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically.

“It’s not the United States of America at all. Nothing is united about it. It’s a very strange place to live in right now.”

The couple previously said the tax hike in the US could force them to return to the UK.

In preparation for their return to their 120-year-old Grade II listed mansion in Buckinghamshire, they dug a swimming pool, installed air conditioning and built a studio for Ozzy to make music.

They say they will return in February of next year.

Ozzy – who has been nicknamed the Prince of Darkness – was the lead singer of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, which he formed in 1969 alongside guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

In the early 2000s, they welcomed MTV cameras into their home, resulting in the hit reality show The Osbournes, which made Ozzy famous with a whole new generation, along with Sharon and their two youngest children, Kelly and Jack.

The show featured some of the major events in the family’s life, including Sharon’s battle with cancer and the aftermath of Ozzy’s near-fatal quad bike accident in 2003.

Ozzy will release his 13th solo album Patient Number 9 – with Tony Iommi, Jeff Beck, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Eric Clapton – on September 9th.
