The Kremlin on Wednesday applauded Telsa CEO Elon Musk’s suggestion that Ukraine should capitulate its territory illegally seized by Russia to end the war.
“It is very good that someone like Elon Musk is looking for a peaceful way out of this situation,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters according to Reuters.
“Compared to many professional diplomats, Musk is still looking for ways to achieve peace. And achieving peace without meeting Russia’s conditions is absolutely impossible,” he added.

In a series of polls he posted on Twitter Monday, Musk suggested that Ukraine cede Crimea to Russia and that the United Nations hold its own referendums in the four Ukrainian regions that Russia has attempted to annex.
“It’s very likely this will be the outcome in the end, just a question of how many die before then,” Musk said.
Over 59% of the 2.7 million survey respondents seemed to disagree with Musk’s proposals. Musk then published a separate poll asking whether “the will of the people living in Donbas and Crimea should decide whether they are part of Russia or Ukraine”.

Almost 80% of the more than 2.4 million survey respondents expressed their support for Ukraine.
The Kremlin spokesman reportedly said on Tuesday that the “bots” were “actively participating in the voting,” although he did not provide evidence to support his claim.
