MUMBAI: Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has converted legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s former bungalow — ‘Gouri Kunj‘ – at a fancy restaurant and he gave fans a sneak peek at his new venture on Wednesday.
‘Gouri Kunj’, which once belonged to the late great singer, will now be known as ‘One8 Commune’. The restaurant located in Juhu, Mumbai promises to meet the food needs of every community.
In a video posted on the “One8 Commune” YouTube channel, Kohli can be seen giving the popular actor-presenter a spin Manish Paul, as the two share their unique food stories. They also engage in a fun segment of silly charades.

The 33-year-old rapper also mentioned that food was given top priority in an effort to entice customers to visit the place more than once.
Asked about the choice of venue, Kohli said he was a big fan of Kishore Kumar and called the singer charismatic. He also sang a verse of Kishore Kumar’s popular song “Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi”.
“His songs really touched me a lot. One person asked me who would you like to meet, I always would have said Kishore Da because he was just charismatic,” the cricketer can be heard saying in the video. .
The cricketer also used his own social media account to inform about his business.
“Fun, laughter and lots of fellowship! Check out the exclusive footage of us introducing our new Commune in Juhu, launching October 8th,” Kohli wrote on her Instagram account along with a reel video.
Notably, this isn’t the first time Kohli has set foot in the hospitality business as he owns a restaurant chain of the same name. The chain has outlets in Delhi, Kolkata and Pune. The former Indian cricketer also has other businesses, which range from clothing to perfumes to shoes and more.
Kohli, who rested for India’s last T20I against South Africawill now be seen in action at the T20 World Cup, to be held in Australia from October 16. India will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23 in Melbourne.
