Day workers filmed with Halloween masks frightening children accused of child abuse | News from the United States

Five daycare workers, who wore Halloween masks and chased terrified children into a Mississippi daycare center, were charged with child abuse.

The online shared footage showing Monroe County staff wearing the GhostFace mask from the horror movie Scream went viral.

The shocked parents saw the employees sneak up on the children, who then started screaming and crying.

Sky News partner NBC reported that it has solicited an investigation by the Mississippi State Department of Health and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Now, four of the employees face three child abuse counts and a fifth face failure to report abuse and mere assault on a minor.

At one point in the video, a masked employee points to a child and looks at an employee without a mask, who responds “bad”.

The owner of the kindergarten, Sheila Sanders, previously told the local newspaper Monroe Journal that she fired the employees involved after learning of the incident, which she said she was unaware of until she heard about the video.

“I don’t forgive him and I never did,” Sanders told the paper.
