IND vs NZ: Rain wipes out India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI at Seddon Park | Cricket News


NEW DELHI: Relentless rain washed out the second one-day international between India and New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday. New Zealand currently lead the three-game series 1-0. They won the first ODI by 7 wickets.
India were 89 for 1 over for 12.5 when rain stopped play for the second time at beautiful Seddon Park. The elegant Shubman Gill and marauder Suryakumar Yadav entertained the crowd with some glorious shots before rain stopped play.

The match was reduced to 29 a side as the first stoppage caused a four-hour break. India were 22 for no defeat in the fifth over at the time.
After the restart, the visitors lost their skipper Shikhar Dhawan (3 off 10 balls) trying to up the ante.

But Gill (45 not out) and Surya (34 not out) added 66 runs in less than eight overs before the skies opened once more.
New Zealand lead the series 1-0, having won the Auckland ODI by seven wickets.
The final match of the series will be played in Christchurch on Wednesday.
