Mahindra Starts Delivery Of Lower Variants Scorpio-N Z2, Z4 – Know Waiting Period


After focusing on satisfying reservations for the Z6 and Z8 high-end trims of the Scorpio-N SUV, Mahindra has now begun delivering the Z2 and Z4 trim levels to customers. Reports of the start of customer deliveries for the Z4 variant have surfaced on the internet with Z2 pre-order fulfillments set to begin in the near future. Here is a review of what Mahindra offers with the Z2 and Z4 variants of the highly sought after Scorpio-N.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Z2 details:
The basic Z2 variant is priced between Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 12.49 lakh depending on the choice of fuel. It gets features like power windows, one-touch fold-down second row, dual-barrel halogen headlamps, and 17-inch steel wheels. While most of the mechanical parts remain a part of the Z2 variant, such as WATT’s Link rear suspension, other equipment such as Shift-on-fly 4WD, 4XPLOR multi-terrain system and mechanical limited slip differential are not available in the Z2 (even as optional ).

Other notable amenities that Mahindra offers in the basic variant are push-button engine start/stop, touchscreen infotainment and audio controls on the steering wheel.

Z4 buyers are slowly starting to get deliveries of their cars, this variant sits a step above the base and also gets the option for an automatic transmission. Some additional features above the Z2 are ESC, Hill Hold Control in the automatic, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wired in the manual, USB-C port in the second row, power windows with anti-pinch, electrically adjustable ORVM and rear wiper and washer.
The exterior of the Z4 is also slightly improved over the Z2 with a silver finish front grille and rear spoiler. It also gets the option of Shift-on-fly 4WD for the diesel variant.

What’s in common?
Both the Z2 and Z4 Scorpio-N are offered with Mahindra’s mHawk diesel and mStallion petrol engine options. Both can be had with the 6-speed manual gearbox and feature a RWD setup. The petrol version gets electric power steering and the diesel variants get hydraulic power steering. However, the more powerful 174hp mHawk diesel will have the electronic steering package. Other safety features such as ABS, EBD and front and rear ventilated disc brakes are standard on both variants.
Pricing for the Z4 variant has been set between Rs 13.49 lakh and Rs 16.44 lakh depending on the chosen fuel and drivetrain.

Estimated delivery time?
As of November 14, 2022, waiting periods for the entire range of Scorpio-N variants have been estimated to be no less than 21 months and could be extended up to 24 months (2 years). With over 1,00,000 bookings registered on day one, there is still a long way to go before Mahindra is able to timely deliver any variant of the Scorpio-N.
