Watch: Ishan Kishan takes a blinder to dismiss Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: After giving India a flying start, the wicket-keeper striker Ichan Kishan produced a sensational effort as he netted one of the best catches of recent times in the first T20I of the three-game series against Sri Lanka at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
The incident happened in Round 8 of the Lankan innings when Charith Asalankawho scored 15 out of 12, missed a shot Omran Malik‘s bowling that went too high in the sky.
And the young and agile Ishan not only ran back to take the blinder but showed great presence of mind by also ensuring that the thin-legged outfielder Harshal Patel stayed clear of the ball to avoid any collision.

Coming to the game, Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne gave India a scare before the hosts held their nerves to claim a thrilling two-point victory.
Earlier cameos from Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel took India to 162-5 after bowlers from Sri Lanka made an impression after opting for the field.
Ishan came out attacking as he hit Kasun Rajitha for a six and two fours in a 17-point opener.
India ran to 26 in the first two overs but quickly lost momentum after losing their first and second order before Hooda (41) and Patel (31) set up an unbeaten sixth wicket of 68 to increase total.
