Although the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not announced the dates so far, reliable sources have told TOI that the match is scheduled to take place from June 8-12, with a provision for a reserve day to make up for lost time due to rain .
This means that there will be enough of a gap between this year’s IPL, which is due to end in the last week of May, and the WTC Finalwhich means a welcome break for the Indian players if they qualify.

BCCI RELEASES AN ADVERT FOR TWO SELECTION POSITIONS
The BCCI announced on its website on Friday the position of a senior coach and a junior men’s coach. Former Tamil Nadu batsman S Sharath, who was the chairman of the junior selection committee when India won the Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies last year, was recently promoted to the selection committee senior.
Currently, Harvinder Singh Sodhi, Ranadeb Bose, Krishan Mohan and Pratik Patel are the other members of the National Junior Selection Committee.
Interestingly, according to BCCI’s brief on the main duties/responsibilities of the position, a junior national coach, in addition to “selecting the best possible team in a fair and transparent manner”, and “planning and preparing a solid bench for the group of respective age teams”, must “inculcate good ethics in young people, especially through interactions with senior and former players on issues such as drugs, betting and match-fixing, etc.
The senior women’s and junior men’s coach would also be “responsible for the vetting and selection of coaches and support staff”.
The deadline to apply for both positions is January 28 at 6 p.m. Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interviews for further assessment by the BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee.
