The massive rubble left by the tragedy earthquake in Turkey he saw the former Newcastle United and Everton winger Christian Atsu be pulled alive by it.
Confirmed by his current club HataysporGhana’s vice president, the Ghana international, was buried under rubble, being among thousands reported missing amid the devastation.
The 7.8-magnitude quake toppled thousands of buildings, killing thousands, in several Turkish and Syrian cities on Monday.
“Christian Atsu was withdrawn injured. Our sporting director, Taner Savut, is unfortunately still under the rubble,” Hatayspor vice-president Mustafa Ozak told Radyo Gol.
The 31-year-old Atsu was on loan from Chelsea when he plied his trade at Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Everton
He joined Hatayspor last September and last represented Ghana in 2019.
