Tass: Russia working to ease visa regime for India and other countries : TASS

Russia is working to ease visa procedures for six countries, including India, Syria and Indonesia, the state CASS the news agency quoted the Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov as said on Sunday.
“In addition to India (simplification of procedures) … is being worked on with Angola, Vietnam, Indonesia, Syria and the Philippines”, Ivanov said.
Earlier, Ivanov said that Russia was also preparing intergovernmental agreements on visa-free travel with 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Barbados, Haiti, Zambia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico and Trinidad, reported. CASS.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine a year ago, which killed thousands and displaced millions, Moscow has turned to China, India and African countries, trying to establish closer ties there.
While the United States, Japan and the European Union condemned the Russian invasion and imposed sanctions, neither did China and India.
India has kept a neutral stance, refusing to blame Russia for the invasion while sharply increasing its purchases of Russian oil.
