Russia’s night strikes are “an attack like I don’t remember seeing before,” a Ukrainian air force spokesman said Thursday.

As you can see, the attack is really large-scale and uses such different types of missiles for the first time,” Yurii Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, told Ukrainian television.

“We see that this time up to six Kinzhal were used. It’s an attack like I don’t remember seeing before,” he added.

“Different types of aircraft were used, strategic, long-range, Mig21. There were 81 missile launches,” Ihnat said.

“There were X-22s (missiles), which we can’t shoot down, we also can’t shoot down the Kinzhal, that’s six plus six and 13 S-300s (which weren’t shot down by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces),” he said.

“So far, we have no capability to counter these weapons,” Ihnat added.

The strikes reportedly killed at least five people in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, and at least three people were injured in the capital, Kyiv.
