Congress: Former Andhra Pradesh CM Kiran Kumar Reddy Resigns from Congress | News from India

NEW DELHI: Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran N Kumar Reddy has resigned since Congress Sunday. Sources said the veteran politician is likely to join the BJP, but only after obtaining assurances that he will be given a suitable position in national politics.

Kiran was the last undivided AP CM. He assumed office on November 11, 2010, and resigned on March 10, 2014, in protest of Congress’s decision to fork the state.

After the state was divided, he launched a regional party – the Jai Samaikyandhra Party – on 12 March 2014 and contested the subsequent elections. After his party’s humiliating defeat in the 2014 general election, Kiran he remained silent in politics for some time before returning to the congressional fold on July 13, 2018.
However, even after joining Congress, he remained inactive in the party.
