Ireland to host India for 3 T20Is in August in Malahide | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: India’s T20 team will play a three-match series against Ireland in Malahide in August this year, the Ireland cricket Council said in a statement.
Indian team T20I led by Hardik Pandya played a two-game series last year at the same venue where the visitors won 2-0.
“Irish cricket fans will be able to watch the world’s first international T20 team, India, when the Asian behemoths return to Malahide for a three-match T20I series in August,” Cricket Ireland said in its statement.
However, with the World Cup at 50 in sight, one wonders if BCCI would risk playing Hardik in a series that will offer little to no context to India’s preparation for the ODI World Cup in India.
But the series, which is due to be played from August 18-23, means a lot to the Irish board as the broadcast revenue generated from rubber will make them more financially stable.
“Summer 2023 will be a feast for men’s cricket but will be very different to normal for the fans. We can confirm today that India visit Ireland for the second consecutive year and confirm that the World Cup series of Super League against Bangladesh will take place in early May.

“This is in addition to the test match already announced at Lord’s in June and the three-match ODI series in September against England,” said Cricket Ireland chief executive Warren Deutrom.
