NEW DELHI: New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr starred with the ball, grabbing an inexpensive three-fer and then played a solid hand with the bat to lead the Mumbai Indians to a four-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the penultimate league match of the Women’s Premier League on Tuesday.
With the victory, Harmanpreet Kaur echo. he came back to winning ways after losing back to back matches against UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals. The loss for RCB was the 6th of 8 games as their nightmare campaign came to an end.
After Mumbai put Bangalore to bat, 22-year-old Amelia led the bowling attack, posting figures of 3 for 22. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Issy Wong also took a pair of wickets each as Bangalore were limited to a modest 125 out of 9 .
Chasing the total, Mumbai had its hiccups but Amelia’s unbeaten 31 ensured smooth sailing as the team won the match with 21 balls to spare.
