SEOUL: South Korea said North Korea tested several cruise missiles to North Eastern waters.
Wednesday’s launches are the North’s fourth weapons tests since the United States and the South Korean military began large-scale military exercises last week. North Korea sees the exercise as preparation for an attack.
The US-South Korean military exercises are due to end on Thursday.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea fired “several” cruise missiles from its northeast coastal city of Hamhung.
It says South Korean and US intelligence authorities were analyzing further details of the launches.
