Two dead and five injured in Ramban hotel fire; magisterial probe ordered | Jammu news

JAMMU: Two people were killed while five others were injured in a fire that took place in a hotel in Sanasar – a tourist spot – in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Having taken note, the district magistrate ordered a masterful investigation.
“A fire broke out at the Maa Shanti Hotel in Sanasar Tourist Resort in the night between Wednesday and Thursday,” official sources said, adding: “In the incident, two people lost their lives while five injured were evacuated to a nearby hospital .”
Official sources say: “One of the deceased has been identified as Raman Kumar, son of Ram Dass of Samba, while the identity of the other is still to be ascertained”.
“The wounded were identified as Anil Kumar, son of Bansi Lal of Marmat Doda; Kishor Kumar, son of Sita Ram of Shiv Khori Reasi; Varinder Singh, son of Sudesh Kumar of Chenani; and Amit Sharma, son of Dwarka Lal of Marmat Doda.”
A fire engine was rushed to the scene which prevented the fire from spreading to other structures.
“Police have registered a case and have launched further investigations.”
Meanwhile, DM Mussarat Islam ordered an inquiry into the incident with an additional District Magistrate (Additional Ramban Deputy Commissioner) Harbans Lal Sharma as his boss.
