The incident occurred in the penultimate over of the Powerplay during the Delhi Capitals chase.
Salt, who was in sublime touch, hit Siraj for two sixes and a four on the trot, which shook the RCB pacer.
A disappointed Siraj bowled a short ball to Salt which was called wide by the umpire.
The 29-year-old Siraj was not happy with the umpire’s decision as he walked over to Salt and gave the batsman a bite.
Delhi Capitals captain David Warner tried to act as a peacemaker but Siraj was not in the mood to listen to his first IPL captain and gave him the same treatment. The pacer was also seen making some gestures, asking Salt to shut up.

Salt assault keeps Delhi Capitals alive in IPL
Eventually, the on-field referee stepped in and escalated the situation.
Salt made a brilliant 87 for 45 to give Delhi Capitals a dominant seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Salt was named Player of the Match.

“Before the match I talked about being positive. We knew the wicket was slow and low, and we talked about playing off the back foot. I thought 180 was par, felt we would have to bat very well to get there. (On Mitch Marsh ) He came in and hit the second ball for six or something, put the bowlers on the back foot. I love the support, especially here in Delhi” Salt said during the post match presentation.
