AMRITSAR: Five to six people were injured following a blast at heritage road in the vicinity of the Golden Temple in Amritsar late Saturday night.
The devotees and locals were seized with fear as they assumed a terrorist attack. Subsequently, police argued that the explosion may have been an accident and not a terrorist incident.

A team of forensics arrived on site to carry out the investigation and recovered gunpowder near a window whose glass was broken.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh said, “It’s too early to say anything.”
A local resident reported that about six girls who were in an auto rickshaw were hit by the glass fragments and suffered minor injuries.
