Elliot Page shared a topless selfie and described the “joy” she feels in her body after receiving gender-affirming treatment.
The 36-year-old actor revealed that he underwent top surgery in 2021 After come out as transgender the year before.
In a recent Instagram post titled “#transjoy,” she opened up about her past experience with gender dysphoria.
“Dysphoria was especially prevalent in the summer. No layers, just a shirt — or layers and oh so sweaty — constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized shirt.
“It feels so good to sunbathe now, I never thought I could feel it, the joy I feel in my body.”
She described how top surgery had changed her life.
“I am so thankful for what the gender-affirming cure has allowed me,” she wrote.
In an interview after undergoing top surgery, Page said the procedure had been “life saving”.
His memoir Pageboy comes out on June 6, and the actor is about to go on a book tour to promote it.
He told People magazine, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to engage with readers and listeners across the country, and also celebrate other queer and trans stories along the way.”
