Supporters of PTI leader Imran Khan attack Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s house

LAHORE: Supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan attacked the Lahore residence of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, more than 500 disbelievers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reached the Lahore City Model Residence of the Prime Minister in the early hours of Wednesday and torched vehicles parked there.
“They also threw petrol bombs inside the house of the first one,” a senior Punjab police officer told PTI on Wednesday.
The police chief said only guards were present at the Prime Minister’s home when the disbelievers attacked. They also set fire to a police station there.
“As a large contingent of police arrived there, the PTI protesters left,” he said.
Before reaching the prime minister’s residence, the mob attacked the ruling PML-N secretariat in Model Town, setting fire to the vehicles parked there. They also set fire to the barriers there.
Police said protesters set fire to 14 government facilities/buildings and 21 police vehicles in Punjab over the past two days, Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday, protesters set fire to the corps commander’s house in Lahore after ransacking it.
The situation in Lahore and several other towns in Punjab remained tense on Wednesday following the arrest of PTI leader and former prime minister Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a land transfer corruption case. .
Violent clashes between Imran Khan’s supporters and security forces left at least seven people dead and nearly 300 injured across Pakistan as the army deployed in the capital Islamabad on Wednesday, as well as in Punjab provinces , Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to maintain law and order.
