NEW DELHI: A season-opening title in its prize pool earlier this month, Olympic javelin thrower champion Neeraj Chopra will be in action at Fanny Blankers – Koen Games in Hengelo in the Netherlands on June 4th.
Chopra, 25, had won the Doha stage diamond league Series of meetings on May 5 with a world best throw of 88.67m.

“Another Olympic champion is coming to Hengelo! With a personal best of 89.94m and an Olympic gold medal, javelin thrower @Neeraj_chopra1 always pushes the limits,” said the FBK Games the organizers said in their social media handles.
The FBK Games, a World Continental Athletics Tour Gold level competition, is named after Fanny Blankers-Koen, who won four gold medals at the 1948 Olympic Games in London.
Chopra, the defending Diamond League champion, is set to face the defending world champion Anderson Peters again at the FBK Games, which will be the second meeting in a month between the two best javelin throwers in the world.

Peters finished third in Doha with a best throw of 85.88m, while the Olympic silver medalist Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic finished second with 88.63m.
After finishing third in Doha, Peters said his next competition would be in Hengelo.
Last year, Chopra finished second to Peters at the World Championships in the United States and the pair are expected to continue their rivalry this year as well. Chopra, who is currently training in Antalya, Turkey, will also compete in the Ostrava Golden Spike event in the Czech Republic, another World Athletics Continental Tour gold tier tie, on June 27.
