NEW DELHI: Rising Indian star Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved yet another milestone in his inspirational cricketing journey on Tuesday when he was handed his T20I debut cap ahead of the third game of the five-match series in Guyana.

The left-handed Jaiswal replaced wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan in the playing XI.
The BCCI posted a video on Twitter with a caption: “It’s my pleasure to give a cap to a Test player. Be yourself, be fearless.”

“Congratulations for another feather in your journey. I am sure you have waited for a very long time to earn this. Firstly it’s my pleasure to give this cap to a Test player and also everyone knows about your journey and story. It’s been inspirational and today everyone is gonna stand by you on the ground irrespective of what happens. Go out there and enjoy. Be yourself, be fearless,” said Surya while handing T20I cap to Jaiswal.

Jaiswal amassed an impressive 266 runs in the two Tests at an average of 88.66, including one century and one fifty against the West Indies.
The extremely talented youngster was also the fifth-highest run-getter of IPL 2023 and finished with 625 runs in 14 matches at an average of 48.08, with one century, and five fifties.
