CBI raids Punjab AAP MLA over Rs 40 crore bank fraud, recovers 94 signed blank cheques

However, there was no immediate confirmation from the ED regarding this claim.
When questioned about the reports of Gajjan Majra’s “detention,” AAP’s Punjab spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang commented, “The manner in which he was taken by the ED from a public meeting reflects the BJP’s strategy to tarnish the party’s reputation.”
PTI reported that Gajjan Majra could not be reached for immediate contact.
Kang noted that Gajjan Majra had a pending case prior to joining the AAP.
In May of the previous year, the Central Bureau of Investigation had carried out searches at locations associated with Majra in connection with an alleged bank fraud amounting to Rs 40 crore.
In September of the same year, the ED had conducted search operations at multiple locations connected to Majra as part of a money laundering investigation related to the alleged bank loan fraud.
During those raids, the ED team had confiscated Rs 32 lakh in cash, as well as various mobile phones and hard drives.
