SRINAGAR: Several houseboats were destroyed in a massive fire that broke out in the tourist hub of Dal Lake in Srinagar on Saturday.
Though there was no loss of life in the incident, properties worth crores of rupees were destroyed.
The fire broke out near Ghat number 9 of Dal Lake at around 5.15am, reported PTI quoting official of the fire and emergency services department.
At least five houseboats and three huts were damaged, the official said.
The fire has been brought under control. The exact cause of fire is being ascertained.
