Director Akshay K Agarwal unites the iconic ‘Ramayan’ trio – Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, and Sunil Lahri, after more than three decades. The trio, reprising their roles as Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lord Laxman, adds a spiritual touch to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ celebrations in Ayodhya with the song. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Akshay reveals the emotional journey of bringing back this legendary cast and the overwhelming response from the fans during the shoot.
Akshay K Agarwal shares, “After ‘Ramayan,’ this trio wasn’t seen in any project or shoot together, though they did do events.So we were blessed to bring the three Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, and Sunil Lahri back together.”

The video, released today, not only delights fans but also stirs emotions, especially for those witnessing the live shoot. “For them, their God was standing right in front of them,” says the director.

While the sentiment-filled crowd presented challenges during the shooting, Akshay acknowledges and respects their deep connection with the cast. He shares, “There was a police force in place as well to help us out. However, day 2’s shoot at Hanuman Gadi was very difficult. There was a time when it was almost impossible to shoot. The crowd started chanting ‘Shree Raam’ and they were pushing and shoving one another.”
He adds, “We understand they all were feeling so emotional at the moment and thus, it was hard to handle. Nevertheless, after some time, the same crowd helped us shoot. They gave us ample space by stepping back.”

Humare Ram Aye Hai‘ not only marks a comeback for the legendary trio but also stands as a testament to the everlasting impact of ‘Ramayan’ on the hearts of the audience.
