6 Maoists killed; toll 37 since BJP assumed office | India News

RAIPUR: Forces gunned down six Maoist insurgents, including two women, in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur Wednesday morning, reported. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, who also holds the home portfolio, said the operation was launched following the murder of three villagers by suspected Maoists on Holi. They were hacked and stabbed to death near Basaguda.
Seventeen Reds have been killed in Bastar this month, taking the Naxalite body count to 37 since BJP govt took over in Dec.This was the second massive security operation in five days in Bastar after two Maoists were shot dead on the Bijapur-Dantewada border on Saturday.
