Former Pakistan pacer mocks IPL after record-breaking scores, says ‘batting is so easy’ | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: T20 is the slam-bang format of cricket where batters typically dominate bowlers with explosive power-hitting in any T20 league worldwide. And IPL is no different but former Pakistan pacer Junaid khan questioned the quality of pitches being used in the lucrative league.
Junaid took to his social media handle X to take a dig at IPL highlighting instances like Sunil Narine‘s remarkable 85-run innings for the Kolkata Knight Riders against Delhi Capitals, despite having only 155 runs to his name in T20Is.

“In IPL batting is so easy on these flat pitches, Sunil Narine has scored a total of 155 in his international T20 career and today he has scored 85 as an opener. The team total is 272,” Junaid posted on X.

Narine opened for KKR and played an 85-run knock from just 39 balls at a strike rate of 217.95. The Caribbean allrounder smashed 7 fours and sixes during his time on the crease.
Narine said he was pleased to contribute with the bat. However, the 35-year-old added that he enjoys his bowling.
“Cricket is all about batting, so to contribute with the bat is pleasing but I also enjoy my bowling,” he said.
Junaid did not mince his words when Sunrisers Hyderabad rewrote the record books by posting the highest IPL ever score of 277/3 against Mumbai Indians last week.
“Flat pitches, small boundaries, quick outfield. This is called IPL A target of 278,” the left-arm pacer wrote.
