Jasprit Bumrah feels T20s ‘difficult for bowlers’ and wants to make most with new ball | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah once again led from the front as his incredible three-for helped Mumbai Indians register their third win of the season on Thursday.
Tormenting the Punjab Kings batters in defense of 192, Bumrah rocked the hosts early, removing top-order batters Rilee Rossouw and Sam Curran in his first over itself, making superb use of the swinging new ball.
He then returned in the middle phase to get rid of a set Shashank Singh (41) to give his side an upper hand.
And late in the chase, when Ashutosh Sharma (61) threatened to take the game away from Mumbai, Bumrah was once again was spot on, delivering a tight three-run 17th over to strangle Punjab in the chase.
After MI managed to pip Punjab in a thriller by 9 runs, Bumrah said that with restrictions and deeper batting line-ups, the format is little difficult for bowlers.
“This was a close game. Much closer than what we thought it would go. Of course you want to make an impact when the ball does something. In this format the ball swings two overs. When I want to bowl more, I play Test cricket. That fulfills my desires. This format is a little difficult for bowlers, with time restrictions and impact player rules. Batting lineup becomes deeper and deeper. But that’s not in your control,” Player of the Match Bumrah said in the post match presentation.
Being a senior pro in the side, Bumrah is expected to guide his young teammates. The 30-year-old said he often gives suggestions to his fellow bowlers but makes sure there isn’t an overdose of ideas.
“I do relay the message to the bowlers whenever I can. But you also don’t want to deliver too many messages in the heat of the moment,” Bumrah added.
With their third win of the season in 7 games, MI rose to the 7th spot on the points table.
Punjab on the other hand had another close defeat and slipped to he 9th spot.
