Dinesh Karthik is someone who has also played with Sachin Tendulkar, and he had a couple of interesting stories to share about his former India teammate.
“Good memory being the fact that the first time I met him was on top of a flyover. We were going in a bus, en route to the airport, and he joined in his car and got into the bus midway. That’s the first time I had ever seen the man in my life….Bad memory, he was 97 not out, we needed four runs to win and I hit a six. I ended up making sure he didn’t get the hundred. Till today, I get a lot of grief for it, and rightly so, understandable. Among the other RCB players seen in the video are skipper Faf du Plessis and allrounder Glenn Maxwell.
“Seeing him for the first time, such a small guy to have such a huge presence was the thing that stood out for me when I played against him for the first time,” said Du Plessis.

Talking about his days with Sachin at Mumbai Indians in 2013, Maxwell said: “I remember that in the first few weeks, as soon as we walked into the change room and Sachin put his bag down, I always used to put my bag down right next to his. Just talked to him as much as I could, tried to drain him of any knowledge that he could potentially give me.”
Sachin, who is currently the mentor of Mumbai Indians, finished his career with 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Tests, while fulfilling his dream of winning the World Cup in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
Of his 100 international centuries, 51 came in Tests and 49 in ODIs. Virat Kohli broke his record by becoming the first batsman to score 50 centuries in ODIs. He then famously bowed to Sachin, who was present in the stands to watch the game.
Sachin quit playing ODI cricket in 2012 and a year later, in November 2013, bid adieu to the game by retiring from all forms of cricket after playing his 200th Test.
Sachin entertained the cricket world in 664 international appearances and put up a mountain of 34,357 runs at the world stage.
