‘If you want to win T20 World Cup, I will tell India coach Rahul Dravid to…’ | Cricket News

The debate around India’s T20 World Cup squad is getting hotter as it’s only a few days before the BCCI selectors name the 15-member squad for the June 2 to 29 tournament to be co-hosted by the USA and West Indies. Joining that debate is former India opener Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has an advice for India’s head coach Rahul Dravid.
“My straight advice to Rahul Dravid is that if you want to win this tournament, have five wicket-taking specialist bowlers, simple,” said Sidhu, answering a fan’s question on the #AskStar segment on Star Sports.

India will take on Ireland in their opening match of the T20 World Cup on June 5 in New York.

Sidhu advised Dravid against making any compromises.
“The collapse of a team’s character stems from the compromise point,” said Sidhu and went on to name the bowlers of his choice, which had some surprise names.

While Sidhu took the name of legspinner Ravi Bishnoi to partner Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav as the spinners in the squad, he named Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Mohsin Khan and Mayank Yadav “if he is fit” as India’s options in the pace department.
India are placed alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the United States in Group A. After kicking off the campaign against Ireland, India will play archrivals Pakistan on June 9 at the same venue – Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
That will follow India’s match against the co-hosts US on June 12 in New York as well, followed by the concluding group fixture against Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.
