Widespread public support: Vadra on Amethi poll entry plan | India News

HARIDWAR: Robert Vadra, husband of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has once again reiterated his desire to contest Lok Sabha elections from the Amethi seat, claiming “widespread support from people” for his entry into active politics.
Speaking to the media in Rishikesh after performing Ganga aarti at Triveni ghat on Friday, Vadra said, “I have been active in Amethi since 1999 and played a role in the 2004 elections when Sonia ji won the seat.People there have deep affection for me and have always wanted that I should come there.”
Vadra also took potshots at incumbent BJP MP from Amethi, Smriti Irani. “She (Irani) has failed to fulfil the commitments made to people of Amethi, and now there is a clamour for change among the electorate. She also resorted to baseless allegations against me in Parliament for gaining popularity, but I openly challenged her through social media to substantiate her claims. I extend this challenge once again,” Vadra said.
On PM attacking Congress manifesto, he said, “BJP is doing hate politics.”
