’25 virgin girls’: North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un have his own ‘pleasure squad’, report says

NEW DELHI: North Korean defector Yeonmi Park made a shocking revelation about the special ‘pleasure squad‘ of young women who exist only to ‘entertain’ Kim Jong-un.
As per the report by The Daily Star, Park revealed that the North Korea leader each year selects “25 virgin girls” and sends them to a “Pleasure squad”. Each woman is picked based on their looks and loyalty to the dictator. She further added that she got into the squad to serve the leader which is an honour in the country, but wasn’t able to enter because of her family status.
Yeonmi Park was quoted as saying, “They visit every classroom and they even go to school yards in case they missed someone pretty. Once they find some pretty girls, the first thing they do is check into their family status and their political status. They eliminate any girls with family members that have escaped from North Korea, or have relatives in South Korea or other countries.”
As per the report, the selection process then involves a medical examination to confirm their virginity. Those who pass this stage face another rigorous medical check, where minor imperfections, like tiny scars anywhere on the body, could lead to disqualification. This intense scrutiny leads to the selection of “just a handful of girls from all around North Korea”, who are then transferred to Pyongyang. Once selected, says Park, these girls’ sole purpose becomes pleasing the dictator.
Park also revealed that the late North Korean leader Kim Jong-il who died from a massive heart attack in 2011 at the age of 70 believed that “having sexual intimacy with young teenage girls would give him immortality.”
Talking more about the late leader Park further said, “He thought, If I pick some pretty girls, and place them where my father Kim Il-Sung stays, he might find that very pleasurable. So he picked beautiful women and put them in resorts that Kim Il-Sung visited. Kim il-Sung was so touched that his son thought of his pleasure, and that’s why he nominated Kim Jong-Il as his successor.”
In 1983, Kim Jong-Il formed another group called “Joy Division” for his enjoyment. Park explained that over time, the members of this group changed because each of the three men had different preferences for women. She further said that both the previous leaders had different tastes in women and accordingly the selections were made.
In North Korea, the “pleasure squad” is split into three groups, as told by the defector. One group learns massage techniques, another focuses on singing and dancing to entertain Kim Jong-un and his inner circle. Sometimes, they perform publicly as the Moranbong band.
The third group which is named “sexual activities division” learns to please men. As Park was quoted as saying, “They have to be sexually intimate with the dictator, and other men. They have to learn how to please these men, that’s their only goal.”
She further added that the most beautiful girls are chosen to serve Kim Jong-un directly, while others are assigned to satisfy lower-ranking military officers and politicians. In the harsh conditions of the country, parents reportedly agree to their daughters joining the Pleasure Squad, hoping it will protect them from hunger. By their mid-twenties, squad members are considered too old and are usually married off to one of the leader’s bodyguards. According to Park, retiring squad members see it as an honour to marry a bodyguard. Despite scepticism about Park’s claims, he alleges that the ruling Kim family are “paedophiles” who demand worship as if they were gods.
