Apple launches iPad Pros with with OLED screen, M4 chip, and more |

It took them two years, but Apple has finally refreshed the iPad Pros with new vibrant, contrasty OLED screens and a new M4 chip, which raises the price slightly. Let’s talk about new tablets from the house of Apple – from specs and features to their price; here’s all you need to know about the iPad Pro.

The new iPad Pro is Apple’s thinnest device yet

The new iPads are “impossibly thin,” says Apple. They are thinner than the iPad nano, with the 11-inch model being 5.9mm thick, making it Apple’s slimmest device ever. The new models are lighter than the previous ones, with the 11-inch one weighing 098 lbs and the 13-inch model weighing 1.28 lbs. The iPad Pro has two finishes – Silver and Space Black.

New brighter OLED screens for both the iPad Pro models

Like before, the iPad Pro comes in two screen sizes – 11-inch and 13-inch – the big one gets bigger. But unlike before, these new models feature OLED screens, called the Ultra Retina XDR. Apple says that the new OLED screens use two OLED panels, and the technique, as Apple calls it, is Tandem OLED, delivering 1000 nits of brightness and 1600 nits of peak brightness. The screen should be brighter, deeper, more detailed, and responsive than the Retina XDR display on the previous Pro models.

Apple puts its newest chip, the M4 chip, inside the new Pro models, with the new display engine and fastest-ever neural engine

Powering the new Pro model is Apple’s newest silicon, the M4 chip. Yes, the iPad gets the new chip even before the Macs. The new chip is built on the second-generation 3nm technology, featuring a 10-core CPU (6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores) and an entirely new display engine.
Apple says the M4 chip can deliver the same performance as the M2 chip for half the power. The new models are 4x faster than the last-gen Pro and 10x faster than the original one.
The 16-core neural engine of the M4 chip can perform 38 trillion operations per second, and according to Apple, it’s faster than any NPU in any PC processor as of today.
The base storage has been doubled up to 256GB, and comes in total four storage variants, with other three options being – 512GB, 1TB 2TB.

New cameras on iPad Pro? No, but a new flash for better document scanning

The Pro features a 12MP camera paired with a LIDAR scanner and an Adaptive True Tone Flash, which will help with document scanning (this should work with the Camera, Notes, and Files app). The front-facing camera and FaceID are being moved horizontally.
With the new Pro models comes a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil—oops, the Apple Pencil Pro. The Pencil Pro comes in a matte finish, includes haptic feedback, you can squeeze it and find it using Find My, too.

The new 13-inch iPad Pro is the most expensive iPad model ever

iPad Pro 11-inch starts at Rs 99,900 ($999), and the 13-inch model starts at Rs 1,29,900 ($1,299), available for order starting today, and available for purchase from May 15 in India.
