BCCI set to advertise for head coach, Rahul Dravid can re-apply | Cricket News

Rahul Dravid‘s tenure as Team India’s head coach is up to June this year, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to advertise for a new coach.
The staff of assistant coaches for batting, bowling and fielding will be finalized after the new coach has been appointed and consulted for the same, according to a report on Cricbuzz.
“Rahul’s tenure is only up to June.So if he wants to apply, he is free to do so,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah was quoted as saying in the report.
The tenure for the new coach is expected to be of three years.
“We cannot determine whether the new coach will be Indian or foreign. It will be up to the CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee), and we are a global body,” Shah said.
Like it has been the norm with the BCCI, there will likely be same coach for all formats and not different coaches for the white-ball formats and Test cricket.
“That decision will also be made by the CAC….There is no precedent for such a situation in India,” Shah said.
