Agnikul mission shows commitment to nurturing startups: Isro | India News

BENGALURU: Isro Saturday said it has demonstrated its commitment to nurturing a vibrant space ecosystem in India by providing extensive technical support and expertise to Agnikul Cosmos, the IIT-incubated start-up, for its recent suborbital mission, Agnibaan SOrTeD.
“…This collaboration showcases Isri’s willingness to support and foster the growth of private start-ups in the country’s rapidly expanding space sector,” the space agency said.
Isro’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) played a crucial role in the mission by assisting in the selection of a suitable launch site, setting up the launchpad and control centre, and establishing a robust communication network.

“SHAR also developed comprehensive safety plans, coordinated launch clearances, and provided essential range systems, including tracking, timing, and real-time data processing. The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) offered its expertise by facilitating the hot testing of the semi-cryogenic engine and conducting acoustic tests for the launch vehicle’s inter-tank structure,” Isro said.
It added that VSSC also provided a comprehensive Flight Termination System and extended on-site support during the launch campaign, while the Isro Telemetry Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (Istrac) provided telemetry and tracking support for the launch through an MoU with Agnikul.
