Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid on five-year deal | World News

Kylian Mbappe has joined Real Madrid on a five-year deal, confirming weeks of speculation that he was joining the Spanish champions.

The captain of the French national team, 25, announced he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain in a video posted on X on 10 May.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” the club confirmed on Monday evening.

It’s believed the confirmation was deliberately held until after Saturday’s Champions League final, which Real won 2-0.

Mbappe told French President Emmanuel Macron earlier on Monday that the transfer was hours away from being made public.

The European champions are getting him on a free transfer and, in addition to his salary, Mbappe will get a signing bonus of £85m to be paid over the five years.
