Lok Sabha results: Trends show ‘no 400-paar, abki baar NDA sarkaar’ as Nitish, Naidu hold key to new government | India News

NEW DELHI: In a dramatic change of fortunes, the BJP, which had dominated the National Democratic Alliance for the last 10 years, will now have to depend on allies Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu to form the next government at the Centre. Ironically, both the regional leaders became a part of the ruling alliance only ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. While Nitish Kumar returned to NDA fold after falling out with Lalu’s RJD in Bihar, Chandrababu Naidu joined the BJP-led alliance after 10-year separation. With the BJP struggling to reach the 272-mark on its own as of now, it will need support from the two regional leaders to form the NDA-3 government. The NDA 1 and NDA 2 governments were dominated by the BJP which had won 282 and 303 Lok Sabha seats in 2014 and 2019.
