‘I will be your voice in Parliament’: Rahul to students amid ‘NEET grace marks row’ | India News

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing NEET-UG exam row, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday assured the students that he would be their “voice in the Parliament”. The comments came in after the Centre decided to set up a 4-member panel to review the grace marks awarded to more than 1,563 candidates in the medical entrance exam NEET-UG .
Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Sunday 7.17pm, Rahul criticised PM Modi saying, “Narendra Modi has not even taken oath yet and the irregularities in the NEET exam has devastated more than 24 lakh students and their families.”
“Today, I assure all the students of the country that I will become your voice in the Parliament and strongly raise the issues related to your future,” Gandhi said.
Highlighting Congress’s manifesto which promised “freedom from paper leak”, Gandhi said, “We had pledged in our manifesto to give students ‘freedom from paper leak’ by making a law.”
In a post on X, Rahul said, “6 students from the same exam centre top the exam with maximum marks, many get such marks which are technically not possible, but the government is continuously denying the possibility of paper leak.”

The results for the medical and dental exams, which witnessed 24 lakh registrations and 97% attendance, were announced on June 4. The aspirants have complained of several irregularities in the test demanding fresh examinations.
