“My dream is to make it an industry crore of Rs 15 lakh. It is very important, as this sector brings the maximum revenue to central and state governments in terms of GST. In place of gasoline and diesel, I dream of India replacing these fuels with 100% biofuels like ethanol. The cost of gasoline is Rs 120 per liter and ethanol costs Rs 60 per liter. Gasoline creates more pollution and costs more and ethanol is a green fuel and costs less. ”Gadkari said at the event.
The trade union minister also appreciated the quality of German manufacturing and encouraged young Indian engineers to learn from existing partners such as Mercedes-Benz how to produce cutting-edge technology and manufacturing. Gadkari also invited the German carmaker to invest electric buses for India through its commercial vehicle arms such as Bharat Benz.
Gadkari said: “Electric buses grew 1,600 percent in India. We currently have 1.50,000 buses in the country and my prediction is that within 5 years there will be huge potential for electric buses because they are cheaper to run and the government is working to encourage public transport in the country. ”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari addressed these points at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Chakan on 30 September. The event marked the launch of the first locally assembled EQS 580 4-matic luxury electric vehicle. The EQS has an ARAI certified range of 857 km at full charge. It gets the latest 56-inch MBUX full digital dashboard and has a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Mercedes-Benz launched the EQS luxury electric vehicle range at a starting price of Rs 1.55 crore.
